About Me

Hi there! I’m Allie, a Catechist who is always on the lookout for ways to get kids more engaged and excited about their Catholic faith.

Every time I looked for a resource and couldn’t find quite what I was looking for, I decided to make it myself.

I’m passionate about sharing my Catholic faith. I draw on what I’ve learned through my life as a mom, wife, catechist, and avid school and church volunteer to create new, engaging ways to teach the Catholic faith to all ages

I believe learning about our faith should be approachable, meaningful, and most importantly- something we can connect to our everyday lives. Whether you’re a catechist looking for something new, a parent trying to bring the faith into your home, or simply someone who wants to understand the Catholic faith a little better, I hope you’ll find something here that makes teaching and learning the faith easier, more engaging, and more joyful.

Catechist Corner grew out of a simple idea: if I’m looking for it, chances are someone else is too.

The resources at Catechist Corner come from a few different places. Some are original resources I’ve created, while others are resources I’ve used successfully and found helpful. I’m sharing them here so you can spend less time searching and more time teaching, inspiring, and sharing the faith.

I’m so glad you’re here.

My Catechetical Journey

I’m a certified catechist through the Catechetical Institute of Franciscan University of Steubenville.

Since 2015, I’ve had the opportunity to teach and work with children in a variety of settings—from Faith Formation and Vacation Bible School in my parishes to classrooms in both Catholic and public schools.

Becoming a certified catechist has helped me grow in my own understanding of the Catholic faith and has given me a stronger foundation for sharing that faith with children.

You can become a certified catechist, too!

Franciscan University’s Catechetical Institute offers a program that you can complete from home, allowing you to deepen your understanding of the doctrine and teachings of the Catholic Church—an important foundation for anyone who teaches the faith.

The program offers a variety of workshops, so you can choose topics that interest you or focus on workshops designed for the specific age group you teach.

If you’re interested in becoming a certified catechist, check with your parish to see if they have an Institutional Subscription to the Catechetical Institute.
