It's all about sharing the faith.

St. Maarten

The reason that I haven’t posted much over the past week is because my family and I went on a family vacation.  We spent the week on the island of St. Maarten.  The weather there was beautiful and the water was nice and warm.  Everyone tells me that we picked the perfect week to go because it didn’t stop raining in New England.

When I travel, I like to go to the local church where I’m staying just so I can see it, and if possible to attend mass there if I happen to stay over a Sunday.  This trip was no exception.  The local church near us was St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Philipsburg, St. Maarten.  It was a beautiful church!  Being from the big city and all, I was curious if it would differ much.  The only obvious difference was it’s size.  The church was much smaller then churches I’ve visited and it does not have any air conditioning so all the windows were wide open, which gave it a very open feel.

Unfortunately, my travel plans did not make it possible to attend mass there on Sunday since my flight left very early that morning.  I wish I could have attended just to see how the liturgy is executed there.  I’ve found that there are always little differences between churchs.

Below are some pics of the church that my wife took.  Enjoy the sideshow!
