There is hope for me after all! Thank you Carlos for your ideas and inspiration. After having taught 2nd grade for 2 yrs and a 3/4 grade combo class last year, I've been asked to teach 6th grade next year. I knew that my beloved collection of supplemental elementary games and crafts was not going to cut it for a classroom of tweens. So, here I am, building a new collection of ideas and tips for the fall. Thanks again for sharing your ideas and experiences. What seemed like a huge leap before, seems like a natural progression now. Yes! There is hope for me after all! Thank you Carlos for your ideas and inspiration. I do not read from the textbook at all during class. I tell the kids to read the chapter before coming and I don't want them looking in the book during class, anyway. I want them participating and paying attention.
